“Ang Probinsyano” production makes an apology to Dingdong Dantes

“Ang Probinsyano” gives an apology to Dingdong Dantes and family for using their photos without consent.

Abs-Cbn primetime soap “Ang Probinsyano” issues official statement to Dingdong Dantes and his family regarding the viral edited photo of their wedding picture and Zia’s baptism.

The team apologized to Dingdong and his family for this incident and cleared that they have no bad intentions at all.

According to PEP.Ph, the production team has a third party contractor who’s responsible for their props and other production.

Here’s their official statement:

“The production team commissioned a third-party contractor to create the photo props used in the program.

“It was not aware that the original of the photographs used were those from Mr. Dantes’ wedding and the baptism of his daughter.

“The program is conducting further investigation to prevent a similar incident from happening in the future.”

Dingdong issued an official statement to the show last August 11. (See article).

The first incident happened way back November 9, 2017 and the latest is on August 8, 2018.

The photos edited are the wedding photo of DIngdong and Marian and the family photo of Dantes family during Zia’s baptism.

The DongYanatics, Dingdong and Marian’s supporters discovered the the whole thing and posted it on social media.

Dingdong also shared his official statement on his fanpage:

“I appreciate that you found artistic inspiration from the original photos. Unfortunately, there is the inescapable consequence that legal and moral rights were violated here. And as you may very well be aware of, established industry practice is against such act as it amounts to disrespect. Worst of all, as a father and husband, I cannot help but feel offended and deeply hurt by such actions, which happened not just once, but twice. Basic rules of courtesy in this case dictate that you first secure permission from the photographer and my Family.”
