CONFIRMED: Atom Araullo is back as a Kapuso!

Multi-awarded journalist Atom Araullo has caused quite a fuss when he announced that he is leaving his home network, ABS-CBN.

ABS-CBN has been Atom’s network for the past decade. He has been a host, journalist and field reporter for the network. He was a news reporter for TV Patrol, Bandila, and the ABS-CBN News Channel, until he resigned in August 2016. He then moved to co-host the morning show Umagang Kay Ganda where he handles lighter subjects.

On September 15, he announced that he is leaving ABS-CBN. But he cleared that he has nothing but love and respect for the network.

On his Instagram post, he said “”Working with ABS-CBN for over a decade has been an amazing adventure. However, the time has come to explore emerging opportunities and challenges beyond the organization. Although I am taking a new path, I have nothing but respect and gratitude for the company that helped me become the journalist I am today. To all the hardworking men and women of ABS-CBN, maraming maraming salamat (thank you very much).”

Atom also received several awards, the most notable on for his on-site coverage during the Yolanda typhoon.

Many are speculating that Atom is moving to the rival network GMA 7. There was a teaser released by the Kapuso network that showed someone with striking resemblance as Atom.

The 15-second video showcased a man driving to the GMA Network Center. His face was not revealed, only the back of his head and a quick flash of his eyes are shown. They are set to reveal it on 24 Oras.

Atom has also tried venturing in acting with his first film, Mike de Leon’s Citizen Jake.

At 24 Oras earlier, they confirmed that Atom is now back home at GMA Network. He hosted “Atomic Sports” way back on 24 Oras.
