Angel Locsin said that there is absolutely no issue if she will go head-to-head against Kapuso Actress Marian Rivera and her new show, “Super Ma’am”.
Marian and Angel had been tagged as rivals since 2007 but are now known to be good friends.
Angel said during the press conference for La Luna Sangre on September 7 that she and Marian don’t talk about these things at all.
When ask whether they would talk about it, she quickly answered with a smile, “Hindi!”
La Luna Sangre is a spin-off from her successful Immortal series. The show stars Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.
And after being part of the pilot week as Lia Ortega-Rodriguez, she is back as a new character Jacintha Magsaysay, political strategist who will be connected to Sandrino (Richard Gutierrez).
Currently, La Luna Sagre is pitted against GMA 7’s Mulawin vs Ravena. MVR is down to its last two weeks after being on air for four months.
From the teasers being shown, it appears Marian Rivera’s new fantasy series Super Ma’am will take the slot after Mulawin vs. Ravena has ended.
This Marian vs. Angel rivalry has been going on for years.
In 2008, Angel starred in the series Lobo which was her first Kapamilya series.
In the same year, GMA launched Marian Rivera as the iconic Dyesebel in the same time slot.
On January 27 2014, Angel and Marian’s shows from different networks both premiered on the same day but with different time slots.
They have both been linked and pitted against each other since MariMar of 2007.
It was said that Angel Locsin was supposed to play MariMar but was unable to do so because of schedule and other conflicts. Marian Rivera later nabbed the part and was the launching break of her career.
She has starred in multiple GMA soaps and was dubbed as the Kapuso Primetime Queen since then.
That same year, Angel made the controversial network transfer to ABS-CBN and has been with them since then.
