The Kapuso royal couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes made an appeal to the parody twitter account @superstarmarian to be taken down.
This was in light of the account posting a tweet that contained a political view which garnered mixed reactions from the public. The post was in light of Pres. Duterte’s war on drugs.
The parody account posted:
“[You] warned us there will be blood. Because the rest of us didn’t sign up for this,”
After the tweet was put up online, a lot of supporters have reacted negatively. This resulted to Marian and Dingdong receiving threats and negative comments as well.
Marian said, “Nag-reklamo na kami, nag-message na kami, gumagawa na kami ng paraan para matanggal talaga ‘yan,” she said during an exhibit in Pasay.
Parang sandali ha, siguro it’s about time na magsasalita na ako na hindi ako ‘yan,” Rivera said.
“Wala akong Twitter account.
The account @superstarmarian used to post funny tweets and memes as if coming from the primetime queen. It used to also carry the name Marian Rivera-Dantes. Recently, it was changed to Fake Marian Rivera on its bio.
Even though the account makes it clear that it’s a parody and not the real Marian Rivera, people can’t help but associate the tweets to being Marian’s because the account is carrying her name.
Her husband Dingdong Dantes also expressed his desire for the account to be taken down.
It is understandable since politics is a very sensitive and dividing issue. We are with Dong and Yan on this one. The account should be taken down. Or it should stop posting anything political or out of line.
As of August 21, ‘Superstarmarian’ Instagram account has been deactivated.
