Marian Rivera, encourages mothers to breastfeed their children
Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera can’t help but cry while sharing her experience as a breastfeeding mom in the annual Breastfeeding Week at UP-Philippine General Hospital.
Marian is now busy taping for her upcoming primetime series in the Kapuso Network. She will topbill action-fantasy series ‘Super Maam’ slated to air third quarter this year.
She’s also busy in the second season of ‘Tadhana’ and a mainstay host in ‘Sunday Pinasaya.’
The busy schedules of Marian didn’t prevent her from stopping the breastfeeding to Baby Zia.
“Kahit nasa taping ako, basta kung kinakailangan kong i-express ‘yung kailangan kong ilabas, gagawin ko talaga eh.”
In PGH ward, the Kapuso mom encourages the new moms to breastfeed their babies because of its health benefits, not just of their babies but also for them.
“Very thankful ako na na-invite ako sa mga ganitong pagkakataon kasi gusto ko ‘yung experience ko, ma-share ko ‘yun sa mga bagay na, ito ‘yung experience ko’ na sana eh makapagbigay ng inspirasyon sa kanila,” said Marian.
Marian also received a Certificate of Appreciation and an image of Our Lady of La Leche, the patron of breastfeeding mommies.
According to Dr. Aurora Gloria Libadia, head of Human Milk Bank and Lactation Unit of UP-PGH, Marian whole heartedly shares her experience as a breastfeeding mother.
“Selfless niyang binibigay ‘yung mga experiences niya, at sinasabi niyang hindi talaga madali ang lahat. Pero at the end, kita mo sa face niya, sa pamilya niya na napakasaya,” shared Dr. Aurora.
Dingdong Dantes who just celebrated his birthday last August 2 is her number one supporter in her breastfeeding journey.
“Ni-celebrate namin with family lang talaga, tapos nagkaroon lang kami ng konting program, nilagyan ko ng program para masaya,” said Marian.
“Sana magdonate sila sa ‘Smile Train.’ Mas talagang maa-appreciate ko ‘yan. Hinihiling ko talaga iyon,” this is Marian’s wish in her upcoming birthday on August 12.
