TV5 issued public apology to Marian Rivera and Vice Ganda for the erroneous news report.

News5 released an apology..

Vice Ganda expressed his dismay to TV5 on his twitter account for reporting fake news about him and Marian Rivera.

Frontline sa Umaga anchor Gretchen Ho replied to Vice Ganda that they will conduct an investigation regarding the erroneous report. “Hi Vice, will investigate and send this to our producers.”

They found out that the writer and segment producer was the one at fault. Gretchen Ho who is the anchor of the news program only read the news on the  teleprompter.

They did not clarify what is their basis why they wrote the news. The said video is now deleted from TV5 social media accounts. TV5 also issued a erratum and publicly apologized to Vice Ganda and Marian for the false report.

Gretchen Ho twitted, “We issued an erratum this morning on #FrontlineSaUmaga for yesterday’s erroneous news report.

Rest assured, we are reviewing internal processes to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Apologies to @vicegandako and Ms. Marian Rivera. We will do better.”

News5 also released a public apology, they wrote, “Humihingi ng paumanhin ang News5 sa mga personalidad na nasangkot sa maling ulat na inilabas sa showbiz segment ng programa kahapon na nagsasabing nagkaroon ng iringan sina Vice Ganda at Marian Rivera.”
