Marian Rivera wants Zia to also give back blessings.
Marian Rivera is more than just a pretty face. She also has a kind and generous heart. She has many advocacies that she supports fulltime.
And as a mother, she sees to it that she shares to her daughter Zia the beauty of giving back. She shared this during international charity Smile Train’s early birthday celebration for her. It is Marian’s birthday on August 12 but they are celebrating early.
As the Smile Train ambassador, Marian revealed that as young as Zia is, she shares her advocacies with her daughter. “So bata pa lang, gusto ko siyang namumulat na siya sa mga nakikita niya,” she said. “Kasi ang mga bata, very transparent ‘yan. Kung ano nakikita niya, sasabihin niya, ‘Mama bakit ganito, bakit ganyan?’”

(Even though she’s still young, I want her to be aware of what’s happening around her.) (Because kids are very transparent. What they’ll see, they’ll ask, “Mama why is this happening and why is that so?”)
“So dapat, sa ganon palang age, may awareness na sila sa mga na bakit nagkakaganoon ang isang bata?” Rivera said about exposing kids to awarenesses at a young age. “Bakit ganyan ang treatment, kailangan ganito ang gagawin mo. So dapat aware sila.”
(So in this age, they should have awareness on why this is happening to a child.) (Why is this the treatment? You should do this, so they need to be aware.)
And what is Marian’s 34th birthday wish?
“Kapag nagbi-birthday ka, ay hindi nauubusan ng isang tao ng mga pangarap na gusto mangyari sa buhay nila. Habang tumatanda ka, dumadagdag ang mga wishes mo…”
(When you celebrate your birthday, you don’t run out of dreams in your life. When you get older, you will add something on your wish list.)
“So ang wish ko? Ang sarap eh, ang daming pwedeng i-wish. Siguro happiness and kapayapaan [na lang] sa bawat puso ng isa. Kasi parang ang sarap mabuhay ng walang bitterness.”
(So what’s my wish? It’s a sweet feeling, there are so many that I want to wish, so maybe just happiness and inner peace. It feels good to live without bitterness.)
Being the kind person that she is, Marian donated P500,000 to the charity, that advocates free operations for children with cleft palate, from t-shirt sales for Smile Train. The donation will help 40 children receive cleft surgery to improve their lives.
Happy Birthday Marian!
