Aside from financial assistance, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera also shows personal support for parents and children with cleft lip and palate with the help of the Smile Train, a foundation that reaches out to these kids offering medical and surgical services.
In the Chika Minute report of Cata Tibayan on GMA News “24 Oras” this Wednesday, Marian provided time to visit the children who will undergo the cleft palate surgery of the Smile Train Foundation, sponsored by the actress.
As a hands-on mom to her daughter Zia, the children are very close to Marian’s heart. So she took one hand, embraced and played with the children.
Marian wanted the children to have perfect smiles.
“What will be the value of my life if I cannot extend it to other people, so even if it’s small, it’s what I can do to help”said the actress.
Since the anniversary of his online flower shop is near, a portion of the shop’s profit will go to Smile Train projects.
“Because of them we can give a kid an operation for free,” she continued.
In a seperate interview, though people has been talking about and admiring her perfect figure but there are some who criticize her.. Marian admits that she is not perfect.
“From the very beginning alam ko naman na hindi ako perfect. Tangap ko yun.” She said.
“At yun ang maganda, kailagan mo tanggapin sa sarili mo na may kakulangan ka. Dahil kung tanggap mo yun. Wala kang dahilan para masaktan ka sa sasabihin ng ibang tao.”
