Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera is also thinking of becoming a mentor to a Kapuso talent in the future.
According to Marian, it is a great responsibility to be a mentor to younger actors but she will agree on the matter if this happens.
She explains, “Mabigat yung ibig sabihin ng mentor, e. Ibig sabihin kailangan yung ibibigay mo at ilalabas mo sa bibig mo, e, yung na-experience mo.
[To be a mentor is a big deal. It means that whatever you will share is what you have experienced.]
“Siguro why not? Kung ise-share ko kung saan ako nagsimula kasi very proud ako na nagsimula ako sa TAPE hanggang sa nag-GMA ako na first role ko sa GMA is nanay ako.
[Maybe why not? If I will share wherever I started, I will be very proud that I started with TAPE and now I am with GMA. And my first role with GMA is a mother.]
“So ibig sabihin, hindi basehan yung character na ibinibigay sa ‘yo. Ang mahalaga, kung paano mo siyan dinidibdib, kung paano mo siya ipo-portray at kung paano mo mamahalin yung trabaho mo.”
[So, it means, the character is not a basis for what they will give. The most important thing is how you internalize it, how you portray it and how you love your work.]
Marian was also asked who the Kapuso talents are that she is impressed with.
Marian replied, “Actually, ang nakikitaan ko talaga na sinasabi ko, tuwing magkasama kaming dalawa, si Barbie [Forteza] talaga.” [Actually, I am vocal about seeing potential in Barbie Forteza.]
She adds, “Kasi very transparent din yung bata, mahal din niya yung trabaho niya, mapagmahal siya sa pamilya niya. At ang trabaho sa kanya, trabaho talaga.”
[She’s very transparent, she loves her work. She loves her family. Work for her is really work.]
