Ruru Madrid, The Next Dingdong Dantes?

The year 2017 was good for Ruru Madrid.
He is currently taping his first solo-starrer / title roler, the upcoming GMA-7 Sherlock Jr. series.

On November 12, she received her first Best Drama Actor award at the 31st Star Awards for TV of the Philippine Movie Press Club for Encantadia.

He drew Dingdong Dantes out of the award for Alyas Robin Hood.

“Siyempre sobrang thankful talaga dahil parang, para sa akin itong taon na ‘to, naging sobrang masuwerte talaga ako,” said the Kapuso actor.

[Of course, I’m really thankful because it seems to me that this year, I’ve been very lucky. Because when I first entered Encantadia, I did not think that I could do well, I did not think I could get Ybarro. Because of course I thought like, ‘It’s the role of Kuya Dingdong, e!]

He has already been dubbed as Best Drama Actor.

“That’s really fun. Kuya Dong was so proud of me, as he still said, ‘Yanyan and I are very proud of you.’

Even Primetime Queen, Dingdong’s wife, Marian Rivera has sent a congratulatory message for her.

“They’re so proud of me, Kuya Dong and Ate Yan!

“So I’m so excited, I’m so thankful for what’s happening to me, in my career now because I’ve been dreaming of that.”

It’s an honor to receive an award for a role that he truly earned.

[It’s a one of a kind award for me. Because to notice your talent, when you really poured it all out, I’m sleeping in the set, you have to act at any time, at nine in the morning you still have to cry, you still need to cry, you need to do a fight scene. I really prepared for the role that’s why I was so excited that I got noticed for that role.]

Some say that Ruru is the next Dingdong Dantes.

“I cannot say that,” Ruru seemed ashamed.

[But of course for me it’s okay if it will come from other people.]
Does the acting award have a pressure with it?

“Of course, of course, because I’m really young. I’m only 19.” he admitted.

[Then those who have been with me, they have been in the industry longer and they have more experience, but I was still chosen. So it sounds like I really need to prove to everyone that every single scene I’m doing and every role I give, I really love and prepare and I will really give my best]
