Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera happily talked about the joys, challenges, and adjustments in raising their unica hija, Maria Letizia Dantes.
Marian shared in an interview that she’s really in love with motherhood.
“Love ko talaga,” [I love it.] she beamed. “Kebs ko sa mga haters na palagi akong pinipintasan na matured na daw ako, gurang na daw ako, lawlaw suso ko. I don’t care, ’day!
“Malaking factor talaga na hands-on talaga ako. Buhos kaming dalawa ni Dong para kay Zia.
“Kasi kung yaya lang, parang feeling ko, hindi magiging ganyan ang development niya.
“So happy ako na nabigyan ko siya ng time.
“Hindi matatawaran ’yong personalidad ng anak ko, ’yong pagiging smart niya.”
[I don’t care about the haters even if they say I look mature or old, or that my breasts are not perky anymore. I don’t care. It’s a big factor that I’m a hands-on mom. Dong and I give our all for Zia. If it’s just with a yaya, we feel that she wont be as developed as she is now. So, I’m really happy that I can give her time. Her personality is amazing. She’s so smart.]
Dingdong, for his part, considers fatherhood as the best job in the world.
“Basta as a parent, ako, free-flowing lang, e,” he explained. [As a parent, I’m free-flowing.]
“I’m learning along the way. Basta my job is to protect my family all the time.”
The Kapuso stars enjoy their real-life roles as first-time parents that they look forward to having more children in the future.
Marian, who is an only child, wants four more kids of her own. Zia is their first born and she’s already asking for a baby brother.
“No’ng ’kinasal naman kami, ’yon naman talaga ang pakay namin—magpalaki ng pamilya,” Dingdong pointed out.
“So, in God’s time… kailangan din, ’hinahanda na namin ang sarili namin.” [When we got married, we really wanted to have a huge family. In God’s time, we’re preparing ourselves for it.]
Marian wants to take a break from Super Ma’am to fulfill this wish of having baby number two.
“Time naman para sa sarili ko at saka do’n sa gusto naming mangyari ulit na magkaroon [ng isa pang anak],” she said. [It’s time for myself and for what we want to happen which is to have another child]
“Siyempre, kailangan ko ring alagaan ’yong sarili ko para maging healthy pa ako. [Of course, I have to take care of myself. I have to be healthy.]
“Lalo kasi, pag pagod ako, stressed ako, wala akong tulog, pa’no makakabuo, di ba?” [Especially now, I’m tired and stressed. I don’t get much sleep so how will we be able to make a baby?]
