MARIAN ON HOW TO BE YOUR BEST SELF

Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera have played all sorts of superhero roles. She has played Darna, Super Inday, Nieves the engkanto slayer, Kung Fu Diva and many others.

But it looks like she’s far from stopping her super powers. She is back with another super hero stint on GMA 7 primetime with the action-fantasy series, “Super Ma’am”.

That is right. Our one and only Kapuso primetime queen is set to rule our TV screens once again starting Sept. 18 as Minerva Henerala, the kind-hearted and passionate high school teacher bent on helping wayward students and defending them from the Tamawos, Pinoy folklore creatures who suck youth and vitality off of children.

Aside from the spectacular effects, stunts and fight scenes, what Marian loved about the LA Madridejos-cut project is its social impact and the moral lessons it will give to students, teachers and parents.

“I want the show to be an eye-opener for students to appreciate the sacrifices of their teachers and vice versa,” Marian said in an interview.

Super Ma’am also focuses on disturbing and troublesome children who provide teachers with a lot of stress and a hard time controlling the class, thus, impeding learning for other kids.

The alter ego of Super Ma’am, Miss Henerala, stands by bullies and ruthless students until she wins them over.

In one of Marian’s favorite episodes, she recalled her character Minerva making friends with a troubled student who came from a broken family.

It turns out the boy needs only one person to talk to who will listen and will not judge him, she said.

Ever since the Madrid-born and La Salle-educated actress became a star after her hit TV series, the Filipino adaptation of Marimar in 2007, she has matured a lot.

She has gone through a total transformation from being someone who is timid and immature to a true woman of character.

The days are gone when the three-time sexiest FHM woman would often reach hot water on the issues thrown at her. Now, all she does about it is taking a grain of salt.

“We all believe the turning point was the arrival of her daughter Zia,” a GMA insider told The STAR. “Zia is constantly giving Mrs. Dingdong Dantes joy and peace and inspiration that helped her become the best version of herself.”

Marian agreed and she said that when Zia was born, she learned how to prioritize. She also learned how to be a supermom, juggling work, family and time for self.

Natutunan kong piliin ang aking mga laban or choose my battles.

Ram David, Marian’s manager said that because of this growth and transformation, she is still one of the top endorsers in the country. Marian is currently signed up for at least 18 product endorsements, all of which attest to her hight trust rating as a product and brand ambassador.

She was asked if she’s afraid of giving up her “queen status” in her beloved network
“Soon tatanda din ako at kailangan kong magbigay ng iba pang mga artista,” said Marian in a serious tone.

“I always believe that what you sow, you reap,” Marian added with a wide grin.
